Sarah’s Incredible Animal Adventure

Sarah* is a spirited 14-year-old with an immense love for animals. Living with her family and her beloved pets, Sarah’s world brightens at the thought of furry and scaly friends. Despite facing a rare neurological condition that kept her housebound for years, Sarah’s resilience and the unwavering support from First Option Healthcare have allowed her to start attending school.

For three years, Sarah has been receiving around-the-clock care from First Option Healthcare. This includes nursing support seven nights a week and additional care during school holidays, ensuring she gets the assistance she needs.

This incredible day brought so much happiness and created memories that Sarah and her family will cherish forever.

The Wish

Sarah’s passion for animals was always evident, but her condition made visiting a zoo or farm almost impossible. When her Clinical Lead learned about her dream, they recommended Sarah to the Genie Project, who were determined to make Sarah’s dream come true.

Bringing the Zoo to Sarah

Since Sarah couldn’t go to the zoo, the Genie Project decided to bring the zoo to her! Partnering with a local animal sanctuary, Our Amazing Animal World, they organized an unforgettable interactive experience right in Sarah’s home.

On the special day, her house was transformed into a mini zoo with an array of animals, including a meerkat, lizards, snakes, and a tortoise. Sarah was overjoyed, stroking and interacting with the animals from the comfort of her living room. This heartwarming experience filled her and her family with immense joy, allowing Sarah to indulge in her passion in a way she never imagined possible.

A Moment of Joy

Seeing Sarah’s face light up as she interacted with the animals was a priceless moment for her family. It was a dream come true, made possible by the collaboration between First Option Healthcare, the Genie Project, and Our Amazing Animal World.
