About Joshua

We created Joshua the Lion with the children whose healthcare we deliver in mind. They face more challenges than most young people will ever have to, and we want them to know that they are not alone.

We created Joshua as a lion, because it’s a symbol of courage, something we see in the children we care for – something they often need on their healthcare journey.

Joshua is filled with lavender which has therapeutic benefits – he can be warmed in the microwave to bring comfort and soothe muscles. The lavender aroma also creates a calming effect.

The name Joshua was inspired by our founder’s Christian faith from the Scripture in Joshua 1:9, “… Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
